Holy Cow

November 5th, 2009 at 03:44 pm

I think I may have just possibly negotiated a $1200/mo. raise bringing my take home pay to around $3800/mo. It would require me to work 10-15 more hours per week but I was going to look for a part time job anyways so this is perfect ... I would start mid-November if this actually pans out, will keep everyone posted!

That's quite a raise indeed! Congratulations, I hope that it works out. (Are you working full time at the same place, then, and are they kicking in insurance benefits? It's not a deal-breaker for a lot of people, but it would be for others...) The nice thing is that you are already there, anyway, and you don't need to lead yourself on a wild goose chase to get to another job site. Way to go!

jerry - yep, i do currently work full-time at the same place. they don't kick in health insurance right now because the owner has a severely disabled daughter and with the way that their family member's birthdays fall, she would end up having to cover her daughter which would make our premiums sky rocket. i have an individual plan for like $140/mo.
